This coming week we welcome a new cohort of students for their very first semester of AIHM’s Bachelor Business Administration in Global Hospitality Management. As always, this is one of my favourite times of the year. If you are one of the new members of our community, I want you to know how special this week is for all of us. Your passion, your vision and your potential to transform the hospitality field inspire us. As we embark on this journey together, I’d like to share with you and our other readers, the ‘why’ behind AIHM, the deeply held beliefs that drive everything we do.

As April unfolds in South East Asia, temperatures rise and water splashing celebrations take over the streets. For much of South East Asia, mid-April marks the traditional New Year’s Festival.

AIHM thrives by attracting a student body filled with the most passionate aspiring hoteliers from around the world. We provide an intimate learning environment where students work closely with faculty who share their intense passion.

Your heart is beating fast. You’re starting to sweat. You feel the anxiety slipping in. Your nerves are going into overdrive. Your boss has just invited you to a fancy event, and part of you is excited, but the other part is wrestling with a nervous panic.

If you’re reading this post, you’re probably exploring your options for the future. Choosing a university is one of the most exciting and important decisions you’ll ever make. Where will you go? What will your university experience look like? Where do you want it to lead you?

Knowledge is power. The world constantly evolves. The business world is in a state of flux. New technologies, values and global dynamics change the formulas for success. Never-before-faced risks emerge, and so do unprecedented opportunities. Where can you find the knowledge and skills to stay on top of the changes?

According to studies as recent as 2020, it has been found that 75% of the population possess a fear of public speaking. In fact, fear of speaking in public is so common that a term has even been coined to refer to it: glossophobia. If speaking or presenting to an audience makes you nervous or afraid, you’re not alone! Your fear is shared by the majority of the people around you.

AI is here. Just as the world started to emerge from the major disruptions of the global Covid pandemic, another world-shattering disruptor arrived on the scene. Artificial intelligence has emerged as one of this generation’s biggest changemakers, shaking up the way we do…well, basically everything.

Many hotel school students dream of a career that takes them around the globe. What could be more exciting than a life spent exploring the world, getting to know different countries and their peoples, seeing extraordinary sights and making unforgettable memories for others?

Bangkok shines as one of the world’s most memorable cities. AIHM students enjoy the luxury of calling this incredible city home! We get to make memories here that will last a lifetime. Of course, it’s a great city for learning about the hospitality business, but even more than that, it’s an exciting place to live, to make new friends and to experience new things together.
